The Pause Before You Buy

A short pause before buying helps you spot what you actually want.

The idea

An impulse buy is when you buy something the second you see it, without stopping to think. Stores, ads, and apps are built to make that moment feel exciting and urgent. If you pause — even for one day — the excitement usually fades and you can tell whether you really wanted the thing. The pause costs nothing, and it keeps your money free for what matters more to you. ⏳

Impulse buy

Buying something right away without stopping to think. Like grabbing candy at the checkout because it is right there.

Pause

A short wait you give yourself before you decide to buy. Sleep on it for one night and see if you still want it.
