Hi. These terms cover what you agree to when you use Vine — the practice-investing app on iPhone and at vineteach.com. We wrote them to be readable. If you can’t live with one of them, please don’t use Vine.

1. The big one: Vine is practice, not real investing

Every “buy” and “sell” you do in Vine uses real, current stock-market prices. No real money ever changes hands. The cash in your account is practice cash — fake. Vine is an educational simulator.

• We’re not a broker, a bank, or a financial adviser.
• We do not execute trades on real exchanges. We don’t touch your money because we don’t have access to it.
• Any “earnings”, “losses”, “rewards”, or “buying power” you see in Vine are not real and cannot be withdrawn or converted to real currency.

2. Not investment advice

Vine’s lessons, tips, recommendations, and any text the in-app mascot says are educational content, not investment advice. They are not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or do anything with any actual security in the real world.

• Do not make real investment decisions based on Vine.
• Past performance shown in any chart is historical data and does not predict future returns.
• If you want real advice about real money, talk to a licensed financial professional.

3. Who can use Vine

• Vine is designed for ages 7–18+. We assume a parent or guardian is supervising any user under 13.
• If you’re under 13: please use Vine with a parent. See the COPPA section of the Privacy Policy for parents’ rights and our contact email.
• You agree not to misrepresent your identity, create accounts for other people, or hand your login to someone else.

4. Your account

• You’re responsible for keeping your password (or Google/Apple login) secure.
• Tell us right away at vineteam@vineteach.com if you think someone else got into your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the service (e.g., trying to game the simulator’s reward system, scraping the app, harassing other users if we ever add multiplayer features).

5. Premium (if you choose it)

• Vine Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks additional lessons, goals, and tools.
• Vine is free while we are under 100 users. After that, Premium is $5.99 per month.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Vine never sees or stores your card number.
• Subscriptions renew monthly. You can cancel at any time from your account page — there is no lock-in and no cancellation fee, and you keep Premium until the period you paid for ends.
• Refunds: reach out and we’ll do what we can. We generally honor reasonable requests.

6. Stock data, trademarks, and third parties

• Stock prices and historical data come from third-party providers (Finnhub, Twelve Data, Yahoo Finance). Vine does not guarantee that prices are real-time or accurate-to-the-cent; they’re educational.
• Company names, tickers, and logos belong to their respective owners. Vine displays them for the limited educational purpose of explaining the stock market. Vine is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the companies whose tickers it displays.

7. No warranty, capped liability

Vine is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best, but we don’t promise the service will always be available, error-free, or fit any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vine and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Vine is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid Vine in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

8. We can change these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll bump the “Reviewed” date at the top of this page. If a change is meaningful (e.g., new ways we use data, new restrictions, new fees), we’ll notify signed-in users in-app or by email. Your continued use of Vine after the updated terms take effect counts as acceptance of the change.

9. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app, which permanently removes your cloud data and sign-in. You can also email us. Once closed, your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
